Let’s say you’ve figured it out: you decided you want to get in the Dominican Republic…but that’s only a small part of this puzzle.

Where exactly would you like to have your wedding? Or maybe you haven’t made up your mind, yet, and are still weighing countries. If you’re still struggling with that decision, or you’re overwhelmed with all the possibilities, we understand that.

Which is why we bring you this list of 5 stunning locations in the DR.  You will see a detailed location, along with nearby hotels that will help you create an unforgettable experience not just for you, but for all your guests.

1. Uvero Alto

You might have looked into Punta Cana for your wedding…but where in Punta Cana? If you’re planning a family-friendly wedding, but still want to have amazing views of beautiful beaches, Uvero Alto might be the place for you. Although a public location, it offers a quieter experience for its guests since it’s not as crowded as other nearby beaches. This site will be perfect for any bride that wishes to have an intimate and quiet ceremony.

As for lodgings, Uvero Alto is home to Dreams Punta Cana Resort and Spa. This family-friendly resort includes stunning views, 24-hour room service, and one of the largest pools in the Dominican Republic. As for wedding venues, Dreams Punta Cana offers six locations, which include a gazebo, on the beach, or at a garden.

2. Playa Bavaro

If you are an adventure junkie, and want to have some fun after your wedding, then maybe take a look at Playa Bavaro. As one of most popular beaches in the Dominican Republic, Visit Punta Cana states that Playa Bavaro offers activities such as catamaran trips, kite boats, parasailing, and more. However, you don’t need to give up any romance if you choose Playa Bavaro.

Here you will find Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana, an adults-only resort that will surely give you a once in a lifetime experience. Guests will find stunning views, paired with gourmet dining and spirits. And if you can’t stay put at your resort, you’ll have the option of Sip, Savor & See Dining. This will let you visit the nearby sister properties.

If you want a beach wedding, Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana can arrange that, but if you wish to have an indoors venue, and enjoy the outdoors on another day, that’s also possible. Couples can choose their ballroom, the eclipse night club, or other.

3. Cap Cana

This private retreat inside Punta Cana mixes relaxation, and adventure. With 30,000 acres of beaches, you’ll be greeted by magnificent views. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of water sports, either before or after your wedding. Finally, Cap Cana is also home to an amazing marina, with world-famous fishing tournaments.

If you’d like to witness this underrated area, Secrets Cap Cana will be an amazing resort choice. Here, you’ll have access to Juanillo Beach, one of the countries most exclusive beaches, and the option to stay at a bungalow-style suite. As for wedding arrangements, Secrets Cap Cana has a range of wedding packages, and stunning venue choices.

4. La Romana

La Romana is the perfect blend of a beach getaway, and a historic site. This municipality’s biggest tourist attraction is Altos de Chavón, a recreation of a 16th century-style village overlooking a cliff. However, if you’re simply interested in admiring beautiful Caribbean beaches, La Romana will be a great fit. You’ll also be able to go on an excursion to Catalina Island and Saona Island.

While there are many great resorts, our pick has to be Dreams Domincus La Romana. This hotel has a great location, as it is near Altos De Chavón, Saona Island, and Catalina Island. This family-friendly hotel offers a romantic sunset pier, elegant gardens, and plenty of wedding packages.

5. Puerto Plata

When you’re at Puerto Plata you’ll discover mountains, lush valleys, waterfalls, and plenty of beaches. It’s also the location of Playa Dorada, one of the island’s most famous beaches and largest tourist hub. Additional things to do include zip-lining, and a day-trip to the town of Cabarete.

For brides looking to have a fun, yet romantic wedding, we recommend Sunscape Puerto Plata All Inclusive Resort. Couples will be right on Playa Dorada, and they will have access to exclusive adult-only activities, while still being a family-friendly resort. This resort offers varying wedding packages, as well as unique reception venues such as their terrace, and their garden venue.
